2017 OMaD - Week 16

April 16 - 22

Day 106: 4.11 Miles - Slowly upping the mileage. It felt good to push myself past the 5k distance. I'm hoping for a 5 miler the next Sunday. I want to steadily get myself back to the 15k Sunday distance run like I use to be at. I'll get there. Since it was Easter I spent the day with my family (M had to work... being chef = working holidays). We had a great healthy meal. My mom and I made beet hummas after my sister raved about a beet hummas she ate when she was in New York City a few weeks back. It turned out to be really tasty, and was uber tasty on a slice of rye toast!

Day 107: 0 Miles - Happy Marathon Monday! I had fun updating M on the movements of the Boston Marathon elite runners. They're amazing! This was a busy day. He went wedding suit recon with his best bud, and I had coffee with my friend HL and her adorable baby girl. Then it was errand running in the heavy rain. So much fun! Well, not the rain and errand running... but it was nice to be home again during the rain! What was great was M took me to Cane Rosso for dinner to have amazingly delicious pizza. Because I've been stressed and anxious about stuff he even got us a s'mores calzone, which was amazing! Ladies, if you need a period chocolate fix... get this!


Day 108: 0 Miles - No run today. I did a kettlebell set... two sets of dead lifts, squats, Russian swings, around the worlds, and American swings. I definitely felt in my legs! 

Day 109: 0 Miles - Oooh! Talk about sore from the kettlebell workout! I need to do that more often! 

Day 110: 3.14 Miles - I was sore and my legs were tired, but I love being able to do a 5k. It's probably cause I haven't run in so long... anything is awesome. I love the feeling of being free and pushing myself to perform. I love running (no I'm not typing this during my runner's high moment!).

Day 111: 0 Miles - I'm ready for my weekend! This includes sharing doggy sitting duties!

Day 112: 0 Miles - Long day at work!

2017 OMaD - Week 15

April 9 - 15

Day 99: 3.12 Miles - I ran a 5k! I ran a 5k! I took super easy, but it felt amazing to go run! Then I came home and had breakfast with my love. So great! Then it was off to work for me.

Day 100: 0 Miles - Gobs of errands to run including the first run to the grocery store for healthy meal options! Yay! We've, especially me, have been wanting to eat healthier and so we're giving it a go!

Day 101: 0 Miles - I was so tried from the weekend that I stayed home.

Day 102: 0 Miles - Oh, Wednesday. My rest day. It'd be even nicer if I didn't have to go to work! :P

Day 103: 3.20 Miles -Another 5k in the books! I was actually off this day to even out my work hours for the week. It was so nice to go run then I had lunch with my mom before doing some errands. Awesome day!

Day 104: 0 Miles - Did I mention that we're still unpacking? I'm getting close to just the boxes of decors, thought!

Day 105: 0 Miles - Saturday work. Saturday box unpacking!

2017 OMaD - Week 14

April 2 - 8

Day 92: 0 Miles - The unpacking begins!

Day 93: 0 Miles -  We found  our kitchen and had unpacked enough boxes that it was time to bring the kitty cat home. We also cooked (from scratch) our first meal in the apartment... Cincinnati Chili. Yum!  

Day 94: 0 Miles - The unpacking continues...

Day 95: 0 Miles - And so it goes... the unpacking...

Day 96: 2.50 Miles - There are still more boxes! Upside! I went to the gym and used the elliptical. 2.5 miles! Yes!

Day 97: 0 Miles - How many boxes do we have?

Day 98: 0 Miles - I hate boxes. With a passion.

2017 OMaD - Week 13

March 26 - April 1

Day 85 0 Miles - I can't even remember what I did this day other than sleep and pack my apartment.

Day 86: 0 Miles -  Ditto.

Day 87: 0 Miles -  Ditto. Oh, but I do know that I was still coughing from my cold. The cold part was over thankfully... but still coughing.

Day 88: 0 Miles - I was off from work to focus on packing and getting things ready for the move! Aaagh!

Day 89: 0 Miles - I dropped my kitty off at my parents' so that he was safe and sound during the move. Then it was back to packing. I remember this night I was so ready for the move to be done and over with because I hadn't gone to the grocery store in so long and I was eating fast food. My body was starting to go into retaliation!

Day 90: 0 Miles - It's Moving Day! It was good. It was simple and yet it was chaotic. It was a long day. Like 18 hours long. But we got two apartments moved into one. We cleaned up my old apartment to the best that we could. I now realize why I never moved! But the best thing of all for that day... M and I now have a home together.

Day 91: 0 Miles - In the morning, M and I cleaned up his old apartment before having lunch. I had to work for a couple of hours, but then we were home getting things unpacked.

2017 OMaD - Week 12

March 19 - 25 

Day 78 13.30 Miles - So that cough I woke up with the Saturday before? Yeah, I was getting a cold. I thought it was nothing. Allergies. Nope. A cold. I basically ran the Rock 'n' Roll Dallas Half Marathon while (1) developing a cold, which had already gone to my lungs so my breathing was a little off, (2) under trained cause I've been so busy and a wimp, (3) it was that time of the month, and (4) My pre-race fueling was off. The race, which really really like - if not love - was so. hard. to. run. Half way in my endurance was leaving me. Everything below my hips were in aching pain and were going numb with all the lactic acid. But I pushed through. I finished. Sub-3 hours, which was great, but it was definitely not the finish I was (unrealistically?) hoping for.

To add to the chaos of the day, I had to take the train back home to my car, so after I hobbled out of the finisher shoot to sit for twenty minutes before hobbling to find my bag drop and getting to the station... I had to sit on a metro train for 45 minutes to get home. In one position. Talk about agony.

Then! I had set this day as the day that my family, bridesmaids, and M and his mom would meet up to work on our Save the Dates. Because of timing, I didn't eat anything all day long with the exception of some healthy snack food. I was so tired. In pain. Still developing a cold. But the fact that everyone was having fun (the meeting of the Moms went great!) and we were working on something for my wedding gave me energy.

M fed me Chinese food to help me out afterwards. Then I begged him to cut my legs off because they were in so much pain that I was crying.

Day 79: 0 Miles - Thank God it was my dad off from work. I was sick. I had a fever all day. I'm a slug. I could not even get myself pack even one box. Moving day was 11 days and I have so much stuff. But I did nothing. M took me to Thai food to help with my congestion, but it was so spicy that my tummy could eat only a little.

Day 80: 0 Miles - No running today. Made it to work. Still coughing.

Day 81: 0 Miles - No running today. Made it to work. Still coughing. g.

Day 82: 0 Miles - No running today. Made it to work. Still coughing. .

Day 83: 0 Miles - No running today. Made it to work. Still coughing.

Day 84: 0 Miles - No running today. Made it to work.... and ... still coughing.

2017 OMaD - Week 11

Another crazy stressful week!

March 12 - 18 

Day 71 0 Miles - Why is it that during the week, when you are stuck inside working that the weather is gorgeous, but when you have the day off and ready to run it's freezing? Why? I didn't go to the Lake today, a little bit because I'm a wimp when it's col, but mostly because my brother and his wife were in town this weekend and it was my last chance to see them before they left. After they left, I had a wedding budget meeting with my dad... fun times. All is good, though. Yay!

Day 72: 0 Miles - Sleep in day! I did some work around my apartment. Nothing majorly fun.

Day 73: 0 Miles - No run today, but I definitely added in a 20 minute kettlebell workout. I'm still a little challenged by the 10lbs kettlebell, but I've been pondering for a while about upgrading to a 15lb. I'm not sure if I'm ready just yet, but it keeps on popping into my brain. So... more than likely I'll buy a 15lbs in the style I like from Amazon soon enough! Oh! Also, in this day's news... My car battery died, and I didn't know until I left work at 9pm (in a sketchy area of town), and my corworkers were already gone. My fiance M was amazing. He had just sat down after taking a shower, after nearly 10 hours in the kitchen, and got dressed an drove like a bat out of hell to my rescue. I'm now a proud new owner of jumper cables and a car battery. At least I learned how I can replace a car battery!

Day 74: 0 Miles - Rest day! Crazy day at work. Then I was at the grocery store for an hour. I bought everything to make sloppy joes with the exception of... the ground beef! Doh! Good thing I bought a frozen pizza too!

Day 75: 0 Miles - Again, no run today. I spent the morning working on my apartment. 15 more days until Moving Day! Aaaaaahhhh!!!!

Day 76: 0 Miles - Busy day at work. Busy evening trying to pack!

Day 77:  0 Miles - Finally a day off from work! HC and I took the Dart metro train down to the convention center to pick up our packet
